WERRIBEE Tigers spilled blood for a good cause last week.
Ten stars from the Victorian Football League club attended the Australian Red Cross donor centre in Bridge Street, Werribee, to give blood.
Tigers captain Dom Gleeson said it was important for the club to be actively involved in the community it represented.
"We had a night off training and 10 of us went down to donate blood," he said.
"It is important with the Blood Oath campaign going around."
Gleeson urged everyone in the community to donate blood.

The Tigers have a huge assignment when they return to the field on Sunday after the bye. They confront arch-rivals Williamstown Seagulls in a western derby with a twist at Avalon Airport Oval on Sunday. The twist is that it will be a Seagulls home game.
