Flashy on the field, a direct-talking professional off it.
When presented with the Fothergill-Round Medal at the J.J. Liston Trophy count, a modest Robin Nahas was all business, prefering to attribute his success to that of his team's top season.
"Our team success has really made my individual success come through," Nahas said.
"We won 16 games so I've just been lucky to be on the end of it."
The Port Melbourne excitement machine booted 48 goals in 2008 (equal fifth on the goal kicking ladder) for the Borough, helping his side climb to the top of the VFL ladder.
His Fothergill-Round Medal follows on from the Frank Johnson Medal he won at the 2008 state game for his four goals against the SANFL.
With AFL scouts sure to be keen on Nahas following his deeds in 2008, he said AFL draft selection was second in his immediate thoughts behind playing good team footy atPort Melbourne.
"Definitely want to play AFL. At the moment, I'm really striving to be a good footballer at VFL level and if that comes through i'd be glad to take it but if not, I love playing footy," he said.
Last year's winner Shane Valenti presented the award and Nahas said Valenti was a player he looked up to.
His coach and team mates had been a great font of knowledge, Nahas said.
"Ayresy's (coach Gary Ayres) been great this year and changed my role, which I'm thankful for.
"Bairdy's (team mate John Baird) been unbelievable, a mentor, really puts me under his wing and teaches me about football.
"Toby Pinwill - i've grown up with Tobes, Tobes has always been there for me.
"Cotchy (Luke Cotchett) as capatain - loves it.
"I'm just thankful for the award."
