Collingwood host Frankston on Saturday at Victoria Park in a match both sides will be looking to win following an up-and-down start the season. Alexander McLeman previews this weekend’s match-up.
Collingwood and Frankston have started this seasons Peter Jackson VFL competition at the same pace, having enjoyed thrilling victories, North Ballarat and Port Melbourne, and honorable losses, Werribee Tigers and the Casey Scorpions, respectively. Collingwood will not boast the AFL caliber team they sent out against North Ballarat, with the likes of Alex Fasolo, Ben Hudson and Dale Thomas all in the AFL lineup now, but they will still have the exciting talents of Andrew Krakouer who many feel is due for a call-up along with Kyle Martin who notched two goals last weekend against Werribee. Frankston will feature the likes of Michael Lourey, Lachlan Delahunty, Ziggie Alwan and Sam Lloyd, who have kicked a combined total of 17 goals in the past two contests.
The match is set to be an impressive contest with both sides evenly matched up at either end of the ground.
Conditions
Victoria Park Oval will provide an excellent playing surface for both teams. A partly cloudy afternoon is forecast for the 2pm kick-off offering the spectators a little respite from the cold front currently affecting Melbourne.

Round 14, 2012 - Victoria Park - Collingwood 10-14-74 def. Frankston 7-10-52.
The Pies never really let the match slip from their grasps the last time these two teams faced-off, they controlled the contest well moving the ball around with ease, making the visitors chase the ball around Victoria Park. Frankston struggled to get to grips with the quick pace Collingwood operated the ball with which was ultimately telling in the 22-point win for the Pies.
