2012 Fothergill-Round Medallist Dean Towers has impressed at day one of the NAB AFL Combine at Etihad Stadium, breaking the standing vertical jump record.
The North Ballarat winger recorded a jump of 85cms, two cms higher than Trent Croad’s leap of 83cms set back in 1997. Towers jump was two cms higher than the closest jump on the day, that of Tasmanian Jesse Lonergan.
Towers also impressed in the running vertical leap, setting the equal 5th height of the day of 89cms, with the leading mark of the day achieved by Western Jet Spencer White at 100cms.
Day 2 of the Combine will see players take part on the sprint and agility testing.
