Geelong coach Dale Amos has found a few positives in the Cats 74-point loss to Coburg.
The Cats blooded GFL players Kane Smith and Paul Carson as well as AFL Rookie Bryn Weadon at ABD Group Stadium.
Ex-North Ballarat Rebel Weadon showed strong hands and kicked two goals and Carson gathered 20 disposals including 10 contested possessions.
Smith was particularly impressive, finding the footy 19 times, eight contested, took five marks and kicked three majors.
Amos said the trio did not look out of place in the VFL.
"Carson and Smith both got better as the game went on which was very encouraging," Amos told www.geelongcats.com.au
"Bryn Weadon was solid for his first game up which was also pleasing. Benny Johnson and Ben Raidme where also solid after the game started and were a few positives to come out of the game after a pretty disappointing loss."
