Bendigo recorded a solid pre-season win over the Northern Bullants at Visy Park as VFL practice matches continued on Saturday.
In sodden conditions, the Bombers skipped away in the second half to win 8.7 (55) to 5.6 (36).
The match was a slogfest as the rain tumbled down and just two points spearated the teams at the major break. But the Bombers took the ascendancy in the second half, kicking three goals to nil to cruise to victory.
The Bombers next tune-up is on Friday at 4.30pm at Gosch's Paddock against the in-form Collingwood, who could boast AFL star Anthony Rocca in its line-up.
Meanwhile, Frankston failed to score a goal in its clash against reigning premier North Ballarat.
Under new coach Shannon Grant for the first time, the Dolphins were humbled by 63 points, with the final score 10.10 (70) to 0.7 (7).
The Roosters were coached by Captain Shaune Moloney, who took the reigns as Gerard FitzGerald was unavailable due to family commitments.
North Ballarat's focus now shifts to a clash with North Melbourne's other AFL-alignment partner Werribee on Saturday.
