The trio leads an all-star cast of greats who will do a lap of the Telstra Dome before the VFL Grand Final as part of a Cavalcade of Victorian Football Champions.
And in a bold initiative, Telstra Dome’s ends have been renamed after goal kicking greats Cook and Miller for the big night this Friday.
Cook kicked an amazing 1336 goals and won six flags in a 300-game career with Yarraville, Port Melbourne and Moorabbin while Miller kicked 883 goals in 183 games with Dandenong.
“I was always proud of my career at Port Melbourne and for it to be rejuvenated for this big night it’s fantastic,” Cook said.
Legends in Ford utes include Billy Swan, Harold Martin, Keith Burns, Phil Cleary, Gerry Callaghan, Jack Aziz, Anthony Allen, Jamie Shaw, Brad Nimmo, Nicholas Sautner and James Byrne.
AFL Victoria CEO Peter Schwab said the night would not only look to the future with the TAC Cup and VFL grand finals, but also the past.
“This is about celebrating 150 years of Victorian footy and recognising the icons, who have made our game so special in this state,” Schwab said.
The TAC Cup Grand Final between Murray Bushrangers and Dandenong Stingrays kicks off at 4pm followed by the VFL Grand Final between Port Melbourne and North Ballarat at 7.40pm.
Tickets are just $25 for adults and thanks to EastLink, children enter free for the best in state senior football plus the nation’s premier Under-18 competition.
