The Cats were premiers in 2002, 2007 and now 2012 after they battled past a game Port Melbourne in Sunday's grand final at Etihad Stadium.
There was little between the teams until the last quarter, when the Cats, despite a rash of misses, booted four goals to one to ease to a 33-point victory and send retiring veteran David Wojcinski out on a premiership high.

GEELONG has kept its symmetry in motion with a flag every five years in the competition since 2002 after running reigning premier Port Melbourne off its legs in a 33-point win in the VFL grand final at Etihad Stadium yesterday.
Some are comparing this list to the one that cantered to victory over Port Melbourne in 2002 - which included some premiership players who were standing in the rooms last night, such as Jimmy Bartel and Steve Johnson - or the one that dominated against Coburg in 2007.

HISTORY repeated itself on the grandest of stages for Geelong.
The Cats' five-year VFL premiership cycle produced the club's third premiership yesterday, following their 2002 and 2007 triumphs.
They overran defending champion Port Melbourne by 33 points at Etihad Stadium. And coach Matthew Knights emulated senior coach Chris Scott's feat, winning a premiership in his first year at the helm.

GEELONG triple-premiership player David Wojcinski has bowed out of football on a winning note after a late rally by the Cats secured a 33-point win against Port Melbourne in Sunday's VFL Grand Final at Etihad Stadium.
An inaccurate Geelong led the brave Boroughs by just six points at three-quarter time, but the Cats poured on the pressure in the final term to run away with the 14.24 (108) to 11.9 (75) win.
