The ruckmen in this game will have a big influence if previous Acacia finals matches are any indication. Let's look at the ruckmen in Sunday's game.
PORT MELBOURNE
18. WAYDE SKIPPER
2011 games/goals: 18 (118) / 8 (112)
Former Western Bulldog and Hawthorn player who is in first season at Port Melbourne after racking up plenty of games at Williamstown and Box Hill. Quality mobile ruckman who can also hold down a key forward position. His role along with David Fanning in combating Will Minson and Jordan Roughead will prove pivotal.
27. FABIAN DELUCA
2011 games/goals: 15 (31) / 2 (11)
Former Port Adelaide ruckman who played a handful of AFL games. Returned to the club this season. Will need to use his 200 cm to advantage in his role against Will Minson and Jordan Roughead.
30. DAVID FANNING
2011 games/goals: 7 (100) / 4 (38)
Played with Williamstown when he was on Collingwood’s list. Now in his fourth season with Port Melbourne. Spent long period in reserves this season, but fought his way back to be selected in Preliminary Final. Big role to play against Will Minson and Jordan Roughead.
WILLIAMSTOWN
23. JORDAN ROUGHEAD
2011 games/goals: 10 (29) / 13 (22)
Emerging Western Bulldogs big man. Ended season positively in the AFL and then returned to make an impact as ruckman/resting forward against Werribee. Tough match-up.
78. WILL MINSON
2011 games/goals: 12 (46) / 15 (30)
Western Bulldogs ruckman who has been brilliant for the Seagulls all season long, particularly in finals, Dominated ruck work and also extremely hard to combat around ground. Gave his smaller teammates an armchair ride last few weeks. Shapes as one of the game’s key players.
