The questions of ‘will he, won’t he, where will he play?’ will finally come to an end when the paperwork for Brendan Fevola and his move to the VFL and the Casey Scorpions is confirmed in the next 24 hours.
Casey Scorpions general manager Brian Woodman confirmed that the final touches to Fevola’s paperwork is currently being put together, and will be submitted to the VFL this week.
Once his paperwork is submitted, Fevola will be eligible to play this weekend for the Casey seniors or reserves. His completed contract will not be his only stipulation of playing this weekend, with Fevola to be assessed after training this week by the Scorpions before his selection. The likely scenario is that Fevola will make his debut for the Casey reserves this Saturday versus Port Melbourne – if fit and selected.
By signing with Casey, Fevola is agreeing to a number of behavioural requirements as stipulated by any standard VFL contract. Fevola is still also negotiating with Casey his plans to play with Narre Warren in round 1 of the Casey Cardinia season, and will need to nominate Narre Warren as his home club, then receive permission from Casey to play with Narre Warren on the weekend of April 16/17.
