The last two weeks of the NAB Cup competition have seen several Peter Jackson VFL players experience their first taste of AFL Football after being drafted at the end of the 2011 season.
Highlights of the split Round 1 include:-
- Sam Gibson delivering 9 disposals for Northern Melbourne in his match against Hawthorn
- Ahmed Saad snapping the first goal in the St Kilda versus Swans showdown
- Orren Stephenson directing 16 hit-outs in his two games on Saturday night
- James Magner totalling 14 disposals and 7 tackles in his two matches for Melbourne
