Gippsland Power ball magnet Michael Stockdale has signed-on with the Scorpions.
Stockdale averaged an impressive 23.8 possessions a match in the TAC Cup in 2008 and the Traralgon player's pace, skill and self-belief saw him become a key member of the Gippsland midfield. His best haul from the 21 games he played last year was 34 touches against North Ballarat. It followed 21 games in 2007.
Casey Football Manager Craig Lees said Stockdale, who finished runner-up in Gippsland’s best and fairest last season, would be an asset to the Scorpions.
“Stocky will have a big year in the VFL, his skills are super and he has that hard edge to him that makes him look ready for senior football," Lees enthused at www.scorpions.com.au
"He has been training very hard and I’m looking forward to his continued development.”
Stockdale will make the trip from Traralgon with Casey's other Gippsalnd region recruit Ben MaCreadie. MaCredie has been a solid performer with Rosedale in the North Gippsland Football League for the past two seasons.
