George Burbury (ex Sandy Bay LJFC) and Aaron Hall (ex North Hobart JFC) had telling impacts on their respective NAB Cup games. Aaron was named as best for the Suns in his debut performance and George kicked two handy goals for Geelong - one a supergoal - resulting in $500 going to his junior club. Well done boys.
At the STJFL AGM the Richmond Football Club was admitted to the League and will begin Season 2012 with teams in the U8s and U9s. The new club will continue to operate Auskick. To be known as "The Blues" the new club will play in a navy blue strip emblazoned with the "blueman."
Registration Day is at the Richmond Oval on Sunday 4th March - 10 till 12 noon.
Aaron Hall (ex North Hobart JFC) has been taken by the Gold Coast Suns with its first pick in the Pre-Season Draft. Aaron joins fellow ex-STJFL boys Henry Schade (taken at Pick 24 in 2011 Draft), Jake Gilbee and Sam Iles.
Henry Schade (Gold Coast) and Jimmy Webster (St Kilda) were the Tasmanian Draft Picks for 2012. Henry joins Jake Gilbee and Jimmy joins Daniel Archer - all STJFL boys. Well done boys - the STJFL is proud of you!
U14 & U15 players can represent their TSL club zone in the Easter Development Series. Players are selected for zones from residential addresses. This competition is conducted by TSL clubs through their Development Officers.
U12, U13, U14 & U15 players can be selected for the STJFL BLUE Vs GOLD Development Series conducted during the June holidays. STJFL clubs are asked to nominate players who are playing with their community club. U14 & U15 Southern Representative Squads are selected primarily from this series. These squads play against the North of the State in the September holidays.
In 2011 the STJFL selected an U16 Rep side to play against the NWJFL at Aurora Stadium as a curtain raiser to the Hawthorn game. It is envisaged that a similar offering will be made in 2012 for this age group.

The Hawthorn Football Club supports the STJFL by funding the Hawthorn Library. Copies of up-to-date coaching and game information books and DVDs are held by each of the State League Development Officers for loan to coaches from within club zones.
