Welcome to KISS 2023

The QCYC "Keelboat Introduction to Sailing Savvy" program is back for 2023, a program for women created by women. Welcome aboard to discover the joys and freedom of setting your own path in sailing.
The KISS program aims to give you an introductory level of information and experience, to get you competently and confidently from passenger to active passionate participant.

Starting with “Facing Your Fears”, we will take you through a series of five Knowledge webinars, a hands-on workshop on boating safety and provide you with resource materials including a Log Book to detail your travels.
For the practical experiences, you will be assigned with a group of 3-4 women to a boat with a mentor and will undertake a safety audit of the boat and learn to use the equipment safely and efficiently.
The program concludes with a real journey, with you and your boat team planning and stepping up to roles of helmsperson, navigator and radio operator for the KISS Rally, a passage from Altona to Queenscliff, with a celebration dinner and overnight stay at Sand Island, the home of the iconic Queenscliff Cruising Yacht Club.

Buoyed by the feedback from our first group of KISS sailors from the class of 2022, and their sailing achievements since participating in the course, Queenscliff Cruising Yacht Club with the assistance of the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria are proud to be offering this course again.
