The Committee has announced that the clubhouse will re-open on Saturday 19th December. Members are able to use the wharf in the meantime.
There has been a lot of thought put into how the clubhouse will run to ensure a COVID-19 safe environment for every visitor and it has been agreed a Manager, as a permanent presence, is essential.
We are looking for a number of volunteer Members who wish to take their boat to QCYC and take on the management of the COVID-19 safety requirements around the Club. A roster will be set up to ensure there is a Manager at the Club at all times.
The position description is in the QCYC COVID-19 Safety Plan which can be accessed here. Any Member who volunteers for this position will not be charged wharfage.
This role is incredibly important. It will be the welcoming face for arrivals as well as overseeing the compliance of the Safety Plan rules so it will require a lot of patience and dedication to ensure visiting QCYC is safe and relaxing for everyone. Some weeks will be quiet with only a few visitors but there has been a fair amount of interest from Members to visit the Club over the Christmas holiday period.
It will be essential the COVID-19 safety precautions are adhered to and managed at all times no matter how many Members are at the Club.
So, if you would like to volunteer for the Manager position for a week, a fortnight or a month please contact Louise, secretary@qcyc.org.au
