Following the latest announcements from the Victorian Government, the clubhouse will remain closed until further notice. The wharf is also closed to to all vessels from current lockdown areas.
In a perfect world we would be gearing up for the Mid-Winter Roast but unfortunately this will not be happening as we have all been caught up with the latest 6 week stage 3 lockdown of Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire.
We are very disappointed to have to make the decision to maintain the closure of the clubhouse but also now close the wharf again to all vessels from the lockdown area.
The Committee has been busy preparing the clubhouse for reopening so this is frustrating but necessary to limit the spread of the virus. At least, when we are allowed to open up again we will be ready and able to do so immediately.
We are still hopeful that we will be able to hold the Working Bee and AGM on 18 October, the Goorangai Race on 31 October and Opening Day on 1 November but time will tell.
Please note that Queenscliff Harbour has also advised they will only accept visiting vessels from outside the lockdown area. Any vessels entering the Harbour from any of the lockdown areas must contact the Harbour office before entering The Cut or mooring against any pontoons or jetties under Queenscliff Harbour’s control.
Please stay safe during the coming weeks and we will continue to keep you informed.
