The Committee has been busy developing a plan for the reopening of the clubhouse now the Victorian Government has eased restrictions. It has been challenging to balance the strict requirements for cleaning and sanitising against the need to allow Members to use the clubhouse and facilities safely, particularly as we have no staff to assist and oversee procedures.
A Committee meeting was held on Sunday 28th June and, after long discussion, a final plan was agreed on which now needs to be fine-tuned and implemented. The plan requires fluidity so that we can react quickly to any additional or easing of restrictions that may need to be implemented.
We are very aware of the current situation with COVID-19 cases increasing in Victoria and our first aim is to maintain the safety of all of our Members and visitors to QCYC.
We are confident the clubhouse will open sometime in July with further information to be provided when we have a definite date.
The wharf is still available for use.
In the meantime, please stay safe, wash your hands and keep at least 1.5 metres from other people.
