The wharf was busy with boats and the clubhouse full of members and visitors over the period between Christmas and New Year. As it was rather cool on New Years Eve everyone congregated in the dining room for dinner and then the music was cranked up and we danced the night away stopping briefly to watch the fireworks at midnight.
The Prawn and Oyster Luncheon was well attended on New Years Day, followed by Mike Ackland’s Curry Night and the fierce competition for the Queenscliff Cup, which was won by Ian Staley on Dream Catcher for the second year in a row.
With the official events over, everyone could enjoy the opportunity to relax and enjoy the serenity of QCYC.
The weather was good with many warm days but a couple of westerly winds (photo above) did make themselves known and there were also the eerie days of smoke haze (top photo).
