February/March is a great time to cruise Bass Strait either alone or in company, and it's looking as though there will be no shortage of company at QCYC during the last weekend in February.
The QCYC Eastern Bass Strait Cruise is due back around that time, and two other groups will be mustering to depart on similar trips.
The 2016 RBYC Bass Strait Cruise in Company plans to assemble at QCYC on Saturday 27th February and make plans for departure and destination according to weather forecasts at the time. The cruise is for two weeks and will return around the March long weekend. There are currently 14 boats that have expressed interest.
A further group of 6 confirmed boats from RGYC are also planning to muster at QCYC on Saturday 27th February for a departure in the next few days. Their cruise is scheduled for up to 3 weeks with a goal of reaching the Tamar, weather permitting.
There could therefore be 25-30 boats at QCYC over the weekend of 27th/28th February. It might be worth bearing this in mind if you are hoping for a quiet escape.
