Geelong Softball Association has been running for over 60 years in Geelong and Stead Park Corio has been it home base for most of that time.  Softball caters for all members of the community from the age of 5 years to masters (over 35 years plus) male and females. Softball is mainly a summer sport and the competitions are held from October through to March with a Christmas break of 5 weeks. Geelong Softball is governed by a Board and committee and is affiliated with Softball Victoria and Australia Softball Federation.

Annually Geelong Softball seeks to recruit new members, including juniors and seniors, male or female to play. Currently, there are seven senior open women teams playing in a competition on a Wednesday evening.  A Batter-Up Junior softball program runs for 8 weeks each season as well as a junior competition on a Friday night. Geelong entered two men softball teams in a travelling competition to Werribee on a Saturday afternoon.

Geelong Softball enters teams into Victorian Championships each season. Teams include U/15, U/17 , U/19 and Open teams, both male and female teams are our members play for other Associations if number are insufficient. From these Championships, Victorian State teams are selected and Geelong has had good representation in the past. Currently, there are two State Players in Geelong, being Emma and Kate Willmott. Emma is in the Open Women team scheduled to travel to New Zealand and Sydney later this year and Kate in U/17 State team travelling to Sydney in January 2014.


All competitions and sessions are held at Stead Park – Corio.

Senior Open Women Competition – commencing Wednesday 16th October 2014. Game times are 6.45pm and 8.15pm (under lights). Season runs for approximately 18 rounds, breaking for Christmas and recommencing late January and Grand final end of March.

Batter-Up Program for 5 to 8 year olds – girls and boys. The program runs for 8 weeks.  It is an introduction to tee-ball with modified games and skills. Held on a Wednesday night starting 30th October to 18th December.

Friday Night juniors – 8 to 13 year old – girls and boys. Commencing Friday night 25th October 2013 with Christmas break then resuming 31st January , season ending 21st February 2014. Times of play 5.30pm to 6.45pm.  Juniors are involved in skill sessions with the aim to participate in games.


Fees for Season

Adult + 17 - $150.00      Match fees of $ 6.00 per game  Juniors 10 > 17 - $ 95.00

Under 10 - $50   Batter-Up Program (8 weeks) - $ 50.00
