Hymon seeks Championship glory

Willetton Tigers MSBL import Marcanvis “KG” Hymon has got his sight set on bringing the Tigers a championship this year.

Hymon, originally from Memphis, Tennessee, most recently played college basketball for Ole Miss at Mississippi University before making the move to Willetton this year.

"I felt like it was a great opportunity for me later on in the season that I was waiting for so I got on task and I'm glad to be here," Hymon said.

The 23-year-old stands tall at 201cm, bringing versatility to the Tigers line-up.

“I think I bring athleticism and defence, I can also bring some offensive versatility for matches with bigger defenders,” Hymon said.

This is his first time in Australia, and despite the initial culture shock Hymon said he is settling in with the help of his teammates.

“It was a culture shock but I got adjusted, and the city is great, the people are great so I feel comfortable here,” Hymon said.

“I've been getting along (with teammates) pretty good, the older guys like Moe (Barrow) and Huss (Jackson Hussey) they’ve been settling me in, so chemistry is going pretty good.”

And as the Tigers prepare for the start of the season, Hymon has one goal in mind.

“To bring a championship here, that’d be a great thing to do.”
