SBL Round 5 Tonight

WSBL TIPS OFF TONIGHT AT 6PM

Following last weekends win against Lakeside, we remain one of only two teams undefeated, the other is Rockingham.  However a very slow start to the game (10 – 20 down at quarter time) placed this record in jeopardy.  Following quarter time the girls managed to increase their defensive intensity to hold Lakeside to 26 points for the remainder of the game, with 6 of those points coming in the last minute of the game after a questionable technical foul call.  A terrific effort by game MVP Kate Malpass, with a near perfect shooting game and the all round game of Bec Duke contributing to a satisfying win 74 – 46.

Stirling have three wins under their belt and with a number of quality national league players in Carly Wilson, Eleanor Haring and Liz Cooke being ably backed up by youngsters Danielle Devenney and Gabby Clayton with seasoned players coming off the bench they provide us with a terrific challenge.  We are planning on being ready to play from the first tip; a slow start against a quality team like Senators would not be so easily reigned in.

Thanks for supporting the Tigers during this ANZAC commemoration weekend.  We look forward to your support again next Friday 2nd May when we take on Rockingham Flames in the first game of a double-header weekend.

MSBL TIPS OFF TONIGHT AT 8PM

Welcome to our clash against the Stirling Senators tonight. Stirling have been very impressive for this first part of the season and with the likes of former NBL players Carmie Olowoyo and Geordie Cullan we certainly have our work cut out for us tonight.

As for us we are still ironing out some kinks and after some serious soul searching during the week at practice I believe we are ready to move on and be the team that we should be in the SBL. You will see a much more determined and intense Tigers from this game onwards. After some minor adjustments to team dynamics and to individuals within the team, you will expect to see the Tigers you have been waiting for.
