Annual Awards

The Board joins with our stadium community to congratulate the following recipients at the recently held annual BWA awards dinner. The annual awards recognise the achievements of the many people involved across the sport of basketball in WA.  We include the comments from the awards program for each of our recipients –

Paul Ciccarelli

Paul has been supporting the SBL competition for three years. His knowledge of the game has increased due to the fact he had no prior knowledge of the sport prior to becoming a statistician. He also provides support for other clubs including Wheelchair Basketball.

Pete Curilli

Pete provides court announcing for the Willetton Tigers Club.  He provides colourful commentary and a bubbly personality on all game nights.

Rosemary Nixon

Rosemary volunteers her time with the Willetton Tigers program. She sits on various committees including Touring Teams, Chairperson for the Junior Committee, and is the WABL Administrator. Her support and volunteer time also includes the SBL program on game nights.

Jasmine Hooper

WSBL Most improved player - Jasmine helped lead the Tigers to back to back championships with stats of 11 ppg., 5.6 rpg., and 2.7 apg.  Jasmine’s season impressed the likes of West Coast Waves Head Coach, David Herbert – and she is now a current squad member looking to pursue her career in the WNBL.

Other award winners from Tigers were:

·         Cameron Tovey – MSBL All Star

·         Kate Malpass – WSBL All Star

·         Kate Malpass – Leader in Assists

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
