Round 3 of AFL 9s continued last night at Kialla Park.
Game 1
‘Mark 9’ 80 defeated ‘Fossils’ 68.
Game 1 saw Mark 9 return to the winners list as they edged out the Fossils by 12 points in a fun filled fixture. For Mark 9, Tamara Lane and Maddy Dowell proved the difference in the win with their superior skills on display, likewise Dwayne Farrant who also proved to be too good for the Fossils. For Mark 9, James Lloyd’s athleticism was a highlight along with Rhylee Deas and Matthew Walker who were also dominant in a losing team. The Fossils are staring down the barrel of a 3rd straight loss when it plays the in-form Bullants in round 4. Can the Fossils produce a almighty upset against the odds next week?
Game 2
‘Bullants’ 66 defeated ‘Pelicans’ 25.
The Pelicans were no match for the star studded Bullants side and went down by 43 points. The Bullants were boosted by a best on ground performance from the experienced Bob Boyer, as well as dynamic cameos from both Cam McGregor and the legendary Stephen Ash. For the Pelicans, they now face the toughest ask in AFL 9s history in overcoming the red-hot Launch it in round 4.
Game 3
‘Launch it’ 126 defeated ‘GV Giants’ 22.
The Sophie Damon inspired Launch it continues to impress and be the premier team in the competition by dispatching the GV Giants by 104 points last night.
