This past week, the Tatura Milk AFL Goulburn Murray Academy participated in the 2017 Pioneers U/15 Regional Carnival in Mildura.
Coached by Luke Moodie and Cameron Stewart, the AFL GM Academy participated with four other teams in the carnival. AFL Central Victoria entered two teams, while Sunraysia and AFL Central Murray had one team each participate.
First up, the AFL GM Academy faced off with AFL Central Murray and were far too strong, winning the contest by over five goals. Forward Ethan Palma-Ludeman played a great game kicking six of the teams eleven goals.
Next up, the boys played against the AFL Central Victoria Gold team and put in a strong performance despite going down by 21 points. Ethan Palma-Ludeman was again the leading goal scorer with two, while Mitch Wales and Jack Evans were the two best Academy players on the ground.
In their final game of the carnival, the AFL GM Academy faced the AFL Central Victoria Blue team and were able to hold on and win a thriller by 8 points. Mitch Wales was again prolific across the ground to be in the best alongside Ben Atley, Jack Evans, Nathan Kay, Angus Jackson and Thomas Burnett.
