Benalla’s Kellie Keen will complete a remarkable achievement this weekend when she lines up for her 400th A Grade game when the Saints take on Euroa at Euroa Memorial Oval this Saturday 27 August.
Benalla’s Robyn Smith was glowing in her praise of Kellie’s achievements.
"Kellie has been amazing in being able to maintain her playing performance to compete at such a high level for over 20 years" she said.
"She debuted with the club when we were in the Ovens & Murray League and has had a long term impact with her shooting accuracy in the goal circle and her athleticism."
"Kellie’s performances have been a key driver in the Benalla Saints winning seven GVNL Premierships and her individual domination has resulted in her winning an unequalled seven club Best & Fairest Awards."
"When you add in another two more premierships with Wangaratta Rovers and over 10 years of representing the GVNL in Association Championships and Kellie’s personal achievements would rival any player in the netball community."
"As well as her stellar playing career Kellie has made an invaluable volunteer contribution to the Benalla Netball Association and junior development for over 10 years was awarded Life Membership in 2010 to add to her GVNL and Benalla Saints Sports Clubs life memberships."
"Professionally Kellie has worked with Sport Inclusion Australia for the past 16 years and as part of her role has taught people with an intellectual disability the skills of netball to assist them in joining community netball associations."
"She also coached the Victorian All Abilities team in 2013 and has coached the Benalla Saints 17&U team for the past three years in partnership with Robyn Smith."
"At 38 years of age Kellie has already made a massive contribution to netball at all levels and should be applauded for her 400 club games, but more importantly for her endeavours to make netball an accessible game for everyone."
