The GOTAFE GVFL and its member clubs will display its support for dairy farmers across the region this weekend by offering a free day at the footy and netball.
The initiative, driven by the clubs, will see all local dairy farmers gain free entry as well as a food and drink voucher at all games across the League for this Saturday 18 June.
GOTAFE GVFL Chairman David Roff is proud of the support clubs have shown for this initiative.
"The current scenario of our local dairy farmers and some of the economic difficulties they are facing has been well reported over the past few months" he said.
"The league recognises the important role the industry plays in our economy and all of our clubs have links to the dairy farming community through players, members, supporters or sponsors."
"Clubs are also very conscious of their role as a central hub in their community and they wanted to show their solidarity and support locally for dairy farmers in a way that is positive and rewarding."
"So we encourage dairy farmers to take some time out on Saturday and get along to their local GOTAFE GVFL game, take a break with friends and enjoy a great day at the footy on us."
"To gain free entry and their voucher each farmer will be requested to show at the gate a Tanker Slip, their Supplier ID number, driver’s license and milk company name."
