The Murray Bushrangers are on the look out for a TAC CUP coach following Darren Ogier’s decision to step down due to a family move back to Melbourne. Ogier who commenced as an assistant coach in 2007 and took on the full time coaching role in 2010 has regularly led the side to finals including a TOP 4 home and away finish in this year.
Talent Manager Lee Fraser was full of praise of Ogiers contribution to the region “There is no doubt that Darren has demonstrated an outstanding ability to build strong relationships with his playing group, he embraces development and has provided a strong culture throughout his time in charge”
“Darren has a proven track record in development through significant draft results with players such as Jarman Impey (Port Adelaide), Kayne Turner (North Melbourne), Caleb Marchbank (Greater Western Sydney) & Nathan Drummond (Richmond) all flourishing under his leadership”. “Even more importantly he has left a great imprint on over 195 players who have played under him since 2010, a number of those boys are now carving out significant football careers within the region”.
“Importantly Darren has left a strong coaching and development culture with his current staff, as a club we are in great hands with a hard working & talented group of assistant coaches including Adam Mudra (Wodonga), Ben Davey (Seymour), Ross Hill (Wangaratta) and Justin McMahon (Wangaratta)”.
The Murray Bushrangers Football will look forward to celebrating Darren Ogier’s contribution at it’s upcoming Presentation Day on Sunday 18th October. “The John Byrne Medal Count will provide everyone at the club with an opportunity to celebrate and thank Darren for his outstanding contribution ”.
The Murray Bushrangers will now advertise for the position of full time TAC CUP Coach and Development Manager to be based at it’s Wangaratta headquarters. “It provides an exciting opportunity for a passionate hard working coach with a clear motivation to educate, develop and mentor young talent”. “The full time position will enable the successful applicant to deliver on a number of development objectives particular in the area of junior coach education and effectively become a mentor for coaches throughout the Goulburn Murray & North East Border”.
