At the squad’s family night session at Congupna last night the Goulburn Murray Selectors named their two teams for the 2015 VLine Cup Carnival to be played in Morwell next week.
Goulburn Murray 1 Head Coach Scott Watson says the players are ready for the task at hand.
"The selection process began back in February and as well as our own sessions we have had a full season to monitor player performances and assess their development" he said.
"This the first time the tournament has been run in AFL Grand Final week and the boys are ready to give their all in this auspicious tournament."
"We have a strong versatile squad who have come together really well and present lots of options for the coaching staff."
Goulburn Murray 2 Head Coach Greg Shannon views this tournament as an important stepping stone in the development of each player.
"This is great starting point for our talented junior players" he said.
"There will be a lot of players in this tournament who go on to play at the TAC, VFL or AFL level or they return to their clubs as better footballers and more developed individuals."
"The program teaches them about elite level football but also seeks to develop their leadership and understanding of the game."
