The Shepparton District Junior Football League will unveil their new logo and interleague teams in two sessions tonight, with the U12, U13 and U14 Squads presented at AFL Goulburn Murray and the U15, U16 and Youth Girls being presented at Lancaster Recreation Reserve.
Ex North Melbourne star Craig Scholl will present the U15, U16 and Youth Girls teams with their interleague gear at Lancaster and local coaching legend Brett Warburton will do the same for the U12, U13 and U14 teams.
SDJFL President Chris Thomas is excited at the progress made with interleague this season.
“The focus for this year has very much been about building an interleague program and not just training for a couple of weeks to get ready for the match” he said.
“We have had Murray Bushrangers coaching staff and AFL Goulburn Murray Football Development Managers assisting the coaches in planning their sessions and the overall coaching philosophy at each age group.”
“A coaching matrix developed in the Region Administration Centre has provided a road map to assist the interleague coaches in working with their players, not only on achieving match day success but also to assist their longer term development.”
“The players will be presented with their jumpers, hoodies and training shirts tonight and this will be a huge imprint on the prestige in which the league values the development of its young talent.”
“Everything is on track for our interleague teams to perform to the best of their ability this Sunday at the Rochester Carnival and then again in a couple of weeks in the annual clash against Bendigo Junior Football League at Strathfieldsaye.”
“Its also exciting to release our new logo publicly which reflects a more modern approach and branding to our junior football league.”
“The logo highlights the dynamics of young players, their improvement and the values that the league and clubs aim to follow with People, Participation, Play.”
