The Kyabram District Football Netball League recommitted at last night’s delegates meeting to a further two year deal to remain with the AFL Goulburn Murray Region Administration Centre (RAC).
The agreement will see the KDFNL continue with its administration from AFL Goulburn Murray headquarters based at Kialla Park Community & Sports Centre for the next two seasons.
KDFNL President Wayne Ryan was excited to make the announcement on the eve of the season "last night was our first delegates meeting for the year and we were looking for direction before the executive made a formal decision at next week’s meeting but such was the positive response from clubs that we decided to approve it and sign immediately."
"The professionalism that has come into our League administration over the past two years has made a huge difference and having access to extra resources and services through the RAC allows us to do things we could never do under our own steam."
"We have also been able to undertake some key projects with our Governance Review last season, the drafting of our new by-laws which were adopted last night, the U18 Club Junior Development sessions at each club to name just a few that have been delivered through our partnership."
"As a district league we are always conscious of costs and in a world of increasing costs we will now have a four year period where our costs will not increase at all."
"When you add that to increased sponsorships, decreased costs through other initiatives and other streamlining work done by the office there are significant savings and it’s really a no-brainer to continue on."
"This pre-season in particular has seen a massive change in the player registration process and the volunteer training and one on one service that has been available to clubs has made a massive difference in clubs being able to comply with the changes and get players registered."
"It was also confirmed at last night’s meeting that Mininera will be sending interleague netball teams at senior, 17&U and 15&U levels to play alongside the senior football clash at Deakin Reserve on Saturday 23 May."
"Another initiative announced last night was the continuation of the No Violence Round to support the Hume Indigenous Family Violence Regional Action Group. This will be played in Round 6 on 16 May."
"Clubs were also notified that they will again receive a $2,500 subsidy from the League following another record finals series and the League’s strong financial performance."
"Murchison, Tallygaroopna, Nagambie, Undera and Avenel were also announced as the finals venues for this season with the Grand Final to be held at Mooroopna on Saturday 26 September."
"The League, through the RAC, will also have three home and away football games broadcast live on One FM as well as the Vote Count and the U18, Reserves and Senior Grand Finals."
