The Shepparton District Junior Football League (SDJFL) Youth Girls program will play double headers for the last four rounds of the 2014 season.
"Even though the overall numbers of participants in the Youth Girls has grown from last season the program is still in its infancy and the sharing and cooperation of all teams is an ongoing focus" commented SDJFL President Chris Thomas.
"After the introduction of the Goulburn Murray team in the Subway Shield competition and the establishment of the League’s interleague team the spirit and camaraderie of the participating girls is very high."
"The Youth Girls program is about development and the sharing of players between teams when necessary is also promoting the ideals and the philosophies of the League."
"Playing double headers will allow that spirit to continue to grow as well as allowing teams to share resources and work together to promote the game."
"The double header format will also allow for other interested girls to come along and participate and this format will provide a more open pathway for girls to join in."
