AFL Goulburn Murray, in partnership with Fonterra, is pleased to announce the introduction of a NAB AFL Auskick Centre of the Month award across the region for the 2014 season.
The award will recognise excellence and innovation in local Auskick centres under three key criteria:
- Volunteer management and leadership
- On field coaching practises and session organisation
- Innovative practises to grow the centre or improve the quality of the experience for participants
One award will be determined each month in each zone by the region’s Football Development Managers: Trevor Mellington (North), Mark Lambourn (Central) and Greg Liddell (South).
Therefore, there will be three winners announced each month from May to July and a total of nine winners overall.
Each award will consist of an NAB AFL Auskick equipment kit bag containing footballs, bibs, cones and a whistle for use in the program.
"Fonterra greatly values the role of sport in the community to promote participation, health, fun and friendship" commented Fonterra’s Improvements Manager Tara Waite.
"NAB AFL Auskick is an excellent program encouraging and engaging children and we are pleased to be able to assist centres in offering a quality program for their participants."
"This award recognises high performing centres and will profile some of the innovative and successful initiatives across the region" added AFL Goulburn Murray Region General Manager Martin Gleeson.
"With over 2,100 participants enrolled in 46 centres across the Goulburn Murray region NAB AFL Auskick is the first step in the player pathway and provides the ideal introduction and first experience for boys and girls to our great game."
The winners will be announced each month in the GM Gazette, the official newsletter of AFL Goulburn Murray. To subscribe to this free newsletter go to www.goulburnmurrayafl.com.au
