As plans for the Benalla Community to host the entire Essendon FC in February 2014 unfold, all eyes now turn to the Official Function to be held on Tuesday 4 February at the Lakeside Community Centre where patrons will be seated next to some of the biggest names in the AFL for a two course meal.
A once in a lifetime opportunity could see you sitting next to a champion of the game like Mark Thompson, or even the current day captain Jobe Watson and enjoy a fantastic meal prepared by Benalla’s very own Red Dish Catering team.
"Engaging community groups is the real key to the success of the camp, bringing together members of the public for one very special evening goes a long way towards experiencing a positive outcome" AFL Goulburn Murray Football Development Manager Mark Lambourn said.
With Secondary school visits locked away, over 300 primary school students attending a super clinic and other various community groups set for visits the ‘Dinner with the Star’ function is a fantastic way to celebrate the community coming together and having an AFL club embrace the collective.
Lambourn added "there will be things happening throughout the town every which way you turn, if you live in Benalla or surrounding districts, don’t miss your opportunity."
There will prizes, raffles and auctions on the night, for not only your chance to get up close to your favourite player but win Essendon signed merchandise along the way.
Tickets are now on sale by contacting Dean Easton from the Lakeside Community Centre on 0499 771 437
