AFL Goulburn Murray Commissioner John Coghlan has stepped down from his position on the regional Commission.
John has had an illustrious career in football administration as a member of the GVFL Board from 2006-2008 including being Chairman in 2008. His league duties complemented his contributions at club level with Shepparton Swans in the roles of President, Vice President and Chairman of Selectors. John was appointed to the Commission as the representative for the Shepparton DJFL.
"John has been a great supporter of junior football and our League over many years" noted SDJFL President Chris Thomas. "His knowledge and guidance is greatly appreciated and the League is grateful for his representation and input."
"It has been John’s football playing and administrative background, coupled with his senior management experience at GO TAFE, which was invaluable in the setting up of the Commission" added AFL Goulburn Murray Chairman Nicholas Rolfe. "We thank him for his service and wish him the best for his future endeavours."
The Commission now sits with seven members and the process of replacement for Mr Coghlan’s position will be discussed at the next Commission meeting in late January.
