Four worthy recipients were announced as respective Coaches of The Year at last night’s annual Goulburn Murray Coaches Association dinner held at the Barooga Sports Club.
West Coast Eagles Assistant Coach and ex-Katandra player David Teague presented the awards to the winners:
Auskick Coach Of The Year – Scott Watson (Euroa)
Has been running Auskick at Euroa for the past five years
Euroa Auskick has grown to now having 81 participants
Is also the Euroa FC President
Is the Principal at Euroa Secondary School
Junior Coach Of The Year – Darren Cook (St Mary’s Seymour)
Has coached St Mary’s for the past two years for two runners up
Youth Coach Of The Year – Phillip McIntyre (Cobram)
U17 Coach at Cobram this year
Has coached at Cobram for the past 4 years
Senior Coach Of The Year – Damian Sexton (Finley)
Also coached Finley U14s, AFL Vic Country U19s and Murray Football League U17 Interleague team
The winners of each award will represent the Goulburn Murray Coaches Association at the State AFCA (Australian Football Coaches Association) Dinner to be held in the MCC Members room at the MCG on Friday 8 November.
