Player Points Cap for 2016
The player points cap for the South East Region Leagues (SEFNL & MPNFL) for 2016 has been announced. Clubs were informed of the points cap via memo last month however after final ratification of the policy, the cap has been confirmed prior to the October 31 deadline.

Commission installed as caretaker governing body of MPNFL
Following a notice of “no-confidence” and the subsequent resignation of the entire MPNFL Board last week, members club approved a motion put forward at an MPNFL Special General Meeting held last night to install the AFL South East Commission as the league’s caretaker governing body until the next Annual General Meeting.

Board elected at SEFNL General Meeting
A new 6 member Board has been established following an historic first Special General Meeting of the SEFNL. Kahl Heinze, Silvio Marinelli, Damien McKenna, Gerard Kelly and Cliff Donegan, along with League Manager Liz Triffitt make up the new Board which will oversee the future direction of the league and its member clubs.

Works underway at Frankston Park
Works have commenced on the redevelopment of Frankston's VFL venue, Frankston Park, with the "turning of the sod" ceremony this morning. Vic Country wins National Inclusion Carnival
Vic Country has taken out the inaugural FIDA National Inclusion Carnival for footballers with an intellectual disability. The country lads turned the tables on Vic Metro in the final after going down to the favourites earlier in the carnival. Footballers from the AFL South East Region were well represented in both teams.

The annual FIDA Charity Golf Day is on again on March 6 at Keysborough Golf Club. FIDA provides structured football for people with an intellectual disability and FIDA has two clubs in the South East Region being Cranbourne and Kananook.

Smoking Bans In Place From April 1st
From 1 April 2014, smoking will be banned at areas commonly used by children and young people for recreational and sporting activities. Smoking will be prohibited at or within 10 metres of a sporting venue during an organised underage sporting event, including training or practice sessions and during breaks or intervals in play
