Welcome
On behalf of the Victorian Government, welcome to the major events capital Victoria, proud host of the 2015 Para World Sailing Championships at one of our state’s top sporting venues and the nation’s oldest Yacht Club, the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria.
Victoria lives and breathes sport. We’re home to some of the biggest events in the world including the Australian Formula One Grand Prix, the Australian Open tennis grand slam, and our world-renowned Spring Racing Carnival.
Competitors and spectators can look forward to an action-packed championship and world-class sailing as 150 sailors from 31 nations compete to qualify for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The Victorian Government has provided support to the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria through the Significant Sporting Events Program to stage this fantastic event.
Showcasing the best of sport in our own backyard provides inspiration for fans to emulate their heroes, join a club and get active and healthy through sport and recreation.
I invite all our guests to experience all the delights Victoria has to offer. There are an enviable array of world renowned restaurants, hotels and galleries, accompanied by stunning parks, open spaces, and family-friendly beaches to enjoy.
