The Israelie Juvenile National Team is going to the Czech Republic for a tournament this summer, and we want you to try and make the team.
Wednesday's (Feb 8) scheduled tryout is expected to take place in Baptist Village from 7-9:30.

Israel fell just short of qualifying for the European Championships losing to Great Britain 5-2. Israel threatened in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded and the winning run at the plate, but the GB closer Michael Johnson put out the fire by getting Israel to ground out to end the Israeli dream of reaching the qualifiers.
Shlomo Lipetz after completing the first game pitched another 4 1/3 inning (13 1/3 for the day!) giving up only 1 earned run. He was followed by Guy Stevens who gave up only 2 hits, unfortunately one was a 2 run homer to Johnson who closed the game.
Young Cadet team defeated a strong Italian team from Netuno to win their first tournament in the Tuscany series yesterday. The 'old' cadets won their final game 5:0 and finished in fifth pllace in their tournament.

Israel has been invited to participate in a new 16-team Qualifying Round for the 2013 World Baseball Classic.The invitation comes from WBCI (World Baseball Classic, Inc.). Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Player’s Association together created the event, first held in 2006. This will be the third Classic, to be played in March, 2013. Japan has won the first two.The Qualifying Round will take place in the Fall of 2012, and will feature a six-game modified double-elimination format.
