All finalists are set in stone going into the last round of the Speed Field Days Mallee Football League. Beulah are able climb to a third position however; it will not affect who play each other in the finals.
Beulah Vs Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers
First plays Forth this week in what should be an epic battle between two great sides. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers had a good win against Beulah in their last match back in round 12. The Tigers got a great start. Not scoring in the third quarter, they needed to work a lot harder in the last quarter. The Blues were unable to catch up on the Tigers lead and Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers came away with the win. Beulah had the bye last week. In their previous match, Beulah were victorious in their game against Jeparit/Rainbow. After not getting off to a good start, the Blues fought back into the game and won the match by 34 points. Tom Hallam was a strong player for Beulah. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers had a close call against Walpeup/Underbool. The Tigers were losing at half time. They came out blazing into the third quarter and won the game by just 3 points. Scott Weekley was excellent for the Tigers. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers should win in a very heart-wrenching match against Beulah
Jeparit/Rainbow Vs Woomelang/Lascelles
In their last match of the season, Jeparit/Rainbow will play at home to Woomelang/Lascelles who are also ending their season this week. The last match between these two sides saw Jeparit/Rainbow have a close victory with the leader changing at the end of every quarter. The Lakers won the match after going down in the first and third quarters. They bet the Cats by 16 points. Jeparit/Rainbow had a disappointing loss to Ouyen United last Saturday. The Lakers tried to keep up with the Demons however; the team that are second on the ladder were too strong for the Lakers. Ash Clugston tried hard all match for Jeparit/Rainbow. Woomelang/Lascelles had tough loss to Hopetoun last weekend. The Cats kept with the Devils all match. The devils were determined not to let them past and the game ended with Hopetoun wining by 14 points. Royce Free was never stopped working for the Cats. Jeparit/Rainbow should win their match against Woomelang/Lascelles.
Hopetoun Vs Walpeup/Underbool
Hopetoun will play their last match against Walpeup/Underbool who are continuing on into the finals. The Roos had a close win the last time they played the Devils. Walpeup/Underbool had a fantastic start kicking 8 goals in the first quarter. However, Hopetoun were dominant in the last three quarters slowly trying to catch back on the Roos. The Devils were unable to past Walpeup/Underbool and the Roos won by 16 points. Hopetoun played their last match against Woomelang/Lascelles. After going down in the first quarter, the Devils pushed in front and lead the game to the end. Hopetoun’s Coleman Schache found possessions with ease. Walpeup/Underbool had a tough loss against Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers. After winning at half-time, the unfortunate Roos watched on as the Tigers took away the game by only 3 points. Chris Lynch was a good defender for the Roos. Walpeup/Underbool should account for Hopetoun in their match this week.
