Tall Ferns Tickets on Sale
The game at the 2500-seat Te Rauparaha Arena at 7.30pm will be the first time the national women’s team has played in New Zealand since the last FIBA Oceania Championship in September, 2007, in Dunedin.
Ticket prices range from $10 for adults to $5 for children and students to $20 for a family pass (two adults and two children/students).
Tickets can be purchased from Ticket Direct outlets, via www.ticketdirect.co.nz or at Te Rauparaha Arena between 8.30am-5pm on weekdays and 9am-4pm on weekends.
The Tall Ferns and defending world champion Opals met three times in 2008, with New Zealand celebrating a first-ever win, 63-59, over the Opals in China, following a pair of scrimmage losses in Canberra.
Former assistant Shawn Dennis has taken over from Mike McHugh as Tall Ferns head coach, assisted by Kennedy Hamilton and Aik Ho.
Game two of the FIBA Oceania Championship for Women, which will decide the region’s representative for the 2010 FIBA World Championship in the Czech Republic, will be held at AIS Arena in Canberra, 9pm (NZ time).
