Key players could miss crucial matchAGILE utility Shane Thorne (pictured) and Rising Star nominee Damien Roe could miss the NT Thunder's crucial match against Southport this Saturday after being booked in the fiery clash with Morningside in Darwin at the weekend.
The Queensland Australian Football League's video review panel earlier today offered Roe and Thorne one- and two-match suspensions respectively after Saturday night's match.
The Thunder lost to the Panthers in Darwin by 53 points -- 21.10 (136) to 12.11 (83) -- which saw them drop from third to fourth on the league ladder and severely denting their top-two prospects.
The Northern Territory side face last year's premiers and second-placed Southport this weekend and could well be without two of their key players in Thorne and Roe following an incident-packed first half on Saturday night.
Thorne, one of the Thunder's best against Morningside, was offered a two-match suspension and 19.7 carry-over points for allegedly striking Panthers ruckman Jacob Gough.
Roe, one of the Thunder's Rising Star nominees this season, was offered a one-match ban plus 12.5 carry-over points for allegedly striking Morningside's Sam Brown.
The Thunder was tonight deliberating what course of action it should take.
The loss to Morningside was the Thunder's second in as many weeks, after succumbing to Redland in dramatic fashion in Alice Springs in the previous round.
