They are household names but only in their own households, they are all under 22 and they share something between them that no one can ever take away. They are the first game players for the Werribee Tigers for season 2009.
They are all different, all from different walks of life, and all with a unique story to tell. There’s Jarrod Mather from Werribee Juniors, who so badly broke his leg last year it was doubtful he would ever play again, but he worked and did the rehab and was rewarded with his senior debut. Joel Magnabosco who won the Reserves Best and Fairest last year and in his fourth year at the club got a chance and has not looked back. Will Martiniello joined this year from Benella, made his debut in round one and has played every game.
They came to Werribee from Tasmania, the Western Jets, the Calder Cannons, Geelong Falcons, Rupertswood and the Murray Bushrangers, all with one goal in mind.
They all wanted a chance to play at the highest level and fulfil their footy destiny as Dale Morris and Ben Hudson did before them.
The Werribee Football Club is the land of opportunity, for some a second chance at their football dream, for others the place to make a mark, and play great footy at a very successful club in the best domestic competition in the nation.
