The 2009 round of Sandown marks the 40th time the Championship has been held as the most used circuit of the series. Continuing the format of previous rounds, we have three practice sessions on the Friday, qualifying, top ten shoot out and race one on Saturday with qualifying and race two held on the Sunday.
'Sandown produced one of our best qualifying efforts last year, so we are keen to do the same again this year. With the car straight out of the box and the upgrades we have made we are hoping for strong results'.
The 3.1km long track is gentle to the car
'The track has long flowng straights which is great for keeping the temperature of the brakes and the car down. it is also kind on the tyres. I have been doing alot of work on my braking which has been one of my weaknesses, so with the combination of the improvements to the car and myself it should be good racing.'
The round also see's the re-introduction of soft tyres which should again make the racing as much about stratagy as skill.
Practice begins at 12.35pm on Friday.
