Very Busy Summer for the Lebanese National Teams

The Lebanese National Teams are undergoing a very busy summer , The great work and planning of the Lebanese Basketball Federation will bring back the good memories of Summer 2006 .

The Lebanese Men National Finished the Jones Cup with a big win over Korea the only team in the tournament who have beaten the Asian Champions Iran on the score of 97-79.

Lebanon dominated the game from its first minutes and led throughout the first half but the Koreans were answering back and keeping themselves on a small distance.

The third quarter saw a very big dominance from the Lebanese players who cruised to a big lead which reached the 30 points through the great performance of Matthew Freije who finished the game with 39 point ad 12 rebounds , Jackson Vroman had 24 points 10 rebounds and Fadi El Khatib 18 points , 8 rebounds , 9 assists.

On the other side the Lebanese Women National Team traveled to Syria to participate in an International Tournament . The Lebanese Women National Team is preparing this year seriously for the FIBA – Asia championship which will be held in Chenai – India from September 17 to 24 and for the Francophone game which will be held in Lebanon from September 28 till October 06 .For this reason the head coach of the National Team picked 14 players for this tournament , Lebanon will play 5 game sin this tournament .Coming back to Lebanon 4 players will join the team to travel to Turkey for a training camp in which 5 games will be played from August 20 till 30.The Lebanese Women National Team is aiming this year to qualify to Zone A in Asia.

The Lebanese Under 16 National Team will have the longest pupation period this year , under the commands of Coach Paul Coughter this team will participate in the WABA under 16 Championship which will be held in Lebanon and ten in the FIBA – Asia Under 16 Championship which is  qualification for the first ever World U17 Championship next year.
