The Speed Field Days Mallee Football League saw some upsets last week and each team will be back on the training tracks getting ready for the next round.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers Vs Woomelang/Lascelles
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers will play their home game in Culgoa against Woomelang/Lascelles. In their last match against each other, The Tigers had a massive win beating the Cats by 152 points. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers had a great win last week when they played Hopetoun. The side kept a strong lead on the Devils throughout the four quarters. The Tigers’ Nathan Wight played well booting 9 goals for his team. Woomelang/Lascelles had the bye last week. Woomelang/Lascelles had their previous game against Ouyen United. The Cats tried very hard but the Demons were just too good. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers have been in great form in the past weeks and they should account for Woomelang/Lascelles.
Beulah Vs Jeparit/Rainbow
Beulah are playing against Jeparit/Rainbow this week for their second time this year. The first match saw the Blues get a close win over the Lakers beating them by 13 points. Beulah played Ouyen United last week in what was a surprising yet deserving win to the Blues. Beulah’s Sam Martin continues to be a dominant player for the team. The Lakers were also the victorious underdogs in their match last week when they played Walpeup/Underbool. The Lakers fought very hard against the Roos and got the win. Ash Clugston has been a great support for the Lakers. Both of these sides played outstanding football however, with the home ground advantage, the Blues should beat the Lakers.
Ouyen United Vs Hopetoun
Hopetoun must travel to Ouyen this week as they play against Ouyen United. In their first match playing each other, the Demons had a close win over the Devils beating them by 18 points. Ouyen United’s last match was a disappointing loss against Beulah. The Demons tried hard but were unable to overtake the Blues. Beulah’s Chris Gerkens manage to kick a handy 5 goals for the side but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Hopetoun also had a loss last week. They fell short against Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers. Leigh Hutchinson worked hard for the Devils but they could not achieve the win. Ouyen United should win their match against Hopetoun this week.
Walpeup/Underbool have the bye.
