The Speed Field Days Mallee Football League had a very exciting round this week.
Beulah Vs Walpeup/Underbool
Beulah hosted a terrific game against Walpeup/Underbool on Saturday. The first quarter was low scoring. The Roos led 2 goals 2 to the Blues 5 points. Beulah had a strong second quarter. They kicked 7 goals and 4 points to Walpeup/Underbool 1 goal and 4 points. The Roos tried to make a comeback but the Blues kept their lead. The last quarter saw the Roos fight back to even out the score to make the game a draw. The final score was Beulah 9 goals and 13 points to Walpeup/Underbool 9 goals and 13 points. Sam Martin from Beulah played well and Jacob Percy worked hard kicking 4 goals. Tom Hallam and Jonathon Dixon also played great games. The Roos’ Josh Charles worked hard booting 4 goals. Travis Latta, Mick Palmer and Matt Brown also played well.
Woomelang/Lascelles Vs Ouyen United
Ouyen United dominated Woomelang/Lascelles in their match at Woomelang. The first term saw a good fight between both teams. The Cats held a small lead of 2 points. The Demons got away in the second term kicking 9 goals and 3 points to Woomelang/Lascelles 5 goals and 1 point. The third term saw Ouyen United increased their lead by another 2 goals and 1 point. The Demons were just too good in the last term when they booted another 6 goals and 4 points to the Cats 2 goals. In the end, the Demons won 21 goals and 13 points to Woomelang/Lascelles 11 goals and 8 points. Ouyen United’s Allan Roberts played a great game. Jacob Anstey worked hard kicking 5 goals and Nic Monaghan and Wayne Grace gave great support. Woomelang coach Todd Beasy tried hard all day along with Joel Donnan, Ryan Tierney and Jay Robins who kicked 3 goals for the Cats.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers Vs Jeparit/Rainbow
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers played at home to Jeparit/Rainbow. The first quarter was a great start by the Tigers as they kicked 9 goals and 2 points to the Lakers 1 point. The next quarter was hard by both teams as they struggled to put a score on the board. The second quarter ended with the Lakers kicking 3 goals and 2 points to Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers 1 goal and 2 points. The Tigers lifted in the third quarter when they kicked a massive 9 goals and 6 points to the Lakers no score. The last quarter was tough by both teams. Jeparit/Rainbow kicked 4 goals and 1 point to the Tigers 3 goals and 1 point. The final score the Tigers 22 goals and 11 points to Jeparit/Rainbow 7 goals 4 points. The Tigers’ Matt McLeod worked hard in the ruck. Scott Weekley, Liam Barry and Wes Sewell all contributed to the win. Ash Clugston from Jeparit/Rainbow played well on the ball. Corey Price, Heath Clugston and Luke Edelsten all tried hard for their team.
