Excited fans were able to see three fantastic games in the Speed Field Days Mallee Football League this week.
Woomelang/Lascelles Vs Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers
The Tigers took the away game as no disadvantage this week beating the Cats at Woomelang. The great weather allowed both teams to make some clever play. The first quarter saw the Tigers got away with a great start. They kicked 9 goals 3 to Woomelang/Lascelles 1 goal. Woomelang/Lascelles couldn't get hold of Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers in the second quarter as the Tigers pushed further in front to have a 93 point lead of the Cats. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers continued to dominate as they kicked another 7 goals 2 to Woomelang/Lascelles 2 goals 1. The last quarter saw no sign of slacking of as the Tigers continued their reign of goals kicking 7 goals 2 to the Cats 2 goals 3. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers won the game by 153 points. The Tigers™ Nathan Wight kicked a 7 goals for the match. Kade Schack booted the Cats highest with 2 goals. The Tigers Bill Barry worked hard all over the ground. Tom Summerhayes and Col Durie made some great play and both kicked a good amount of goals each. Joel Lloyd work hard on the ball. The Cats ruckman Joel Donnan worked hard all day. Royce Free, Kade Rixon and Bryce Scott worked hard all day.
Jeparit/Rainbow Vs Beulah
Beulah recorded their first win this week against a tough opposition when they travelled to Rainbow. The first term saw the Lakers get a lead on Beulah beating them 2 goals 1 to the Blues 1 goal 6. Jeparit/Rainbow increased their lead in the second term kicking 4 goals 3 to the Blues 2 goals 3. The third quarter saw Beulah fight back to get at a 24 point lead over the Lakers. The last quarter was a real fight. The end score saw Jeparit/ Rainbow try so hard against Beulah. The Lakers booted 2 goals 7 to the Blues 1 goal 4. Beulah won the match by 13 points. Young guns Tyler Lehmann and Mick Shannon played well. Corey Gove used the ball efficiently and Jacob Percy did well up forward kicking 4 goals for the blues. The Lakers Dean Schumann played well getting his teams best. Damion Chester, Ash Clugston and Heath Clugston also worked hard for all four quarters.
Hopetoun Vs Ouyen United
Hopetoun played home to Ouyen United this week. The first quarter saw Ouyen get away with a good start getting 5 goals 4 to Hopetoun 1 goal 1. The second term had great play from both Hopetoun and Ouyen. The Devils won the quarter 4 goals 1 to the Demons 3 goals 3. The third quarter witnessed great play from Hopetoun who brought the margin down to 6 points. Ouyen United lifted and saw the game out to win the fight by 18 points. The Demons Dean Jardine and Daniel Cook made terrific play and Danny O'Bree kicked a phenomenal 6 goals. Chris Gerkins also played well for Ouyen United. The Demons Leigh Hutchinson was outstanding in the match along with Jordan Phelan, W. Barnes and Steve Hallam.
