The two Magpie legends are synonymous with the club's halcyon days spanning the 1970s and 1980s.
The pair joined yesterday's announcement of Glenorchy's impending induction as one of the great clubs of Tasmanian football, and rightly so.
Linton, who played in six grand finals and three premierships, believes that Glenorchy is arguably Tasmania's greatest club for its impressive record.
``In terms of sustained success over many years, Glenorchy is up there with any club in Tasmania,'' Linton said.
``We've rarely had any turmoil, on or off the field.
``It's a stable club. It's had its moments like any other club.
``If you measure Glenorchy in terms of consistently good form and making the finals, hardly a club in Tasmania comes near it.''
Curley is proud to be involved with arguably the state's finest football club.
``All the years I played here, 13 or 14, we never finished worse than third,'' Curley said.
``We always played in the finals and we were always competitive.''
Curley, whose son Ben now plays for the Pies, played in nine grand finals for three flags.
The Glenorchy/New Town District Football Club will take its place amongst the great clubs of Tasmanian football at the official induction at Wrest Point on Friday, July 3.
