2009 will show great form by all teams in the now named Speed Field Days Mallee Football League. Back to back Premiers Walpeup-Underbool proved they were too good in the 2008 Grand Final beating Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers by 81 points.
This year they have Chris Vorwerk and Kane Munro again as the clubs coach and assistant coach. Leaving Walpeup-Underbool this season is Roberts Ball, Neville Bischard, Dean Brown, Simon Brown, Aaron Cadd, Dominic Leach, Kalon Wilkins and Tom Mock. They gain Nickolas Malinovski and Brandon Keely.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers were runners-up in the 2008 Grand Final. This year they have Phil Cox again as coach along with Joey Summerhayes. Leaving the club are Andrew Barry, Dale Barry, Ricky Blake, Brendan Crabbe, Gerard Giddings, Jason Hannig, James Considine and Russell Weekley. Recruitments for the club are Karl Bibby, Peter Pola, Wesley Sewell, Colin Durie, Craig Sutton, Anthony Bibby, Ryan Parkinson and Jordan Matthews.
Hopetoun have Brian Poulton coaching them this year. They have lost Damien Arthur, Jevon Duff, Graeme Glare, Leighton Hateley, Ayden Roberts and Jason Sawyer. Incoming players are Troy Hanckel, Tyler Saunders, Nick Tarca, Dillon Robertson, Jesse Robertson and Clinton Castleman.
Todd Beasy is the new coach of Woomalang-Lascelles. Going to other leagues are Alexander Barber, Joseph Brady, Beau Duthie, Brenton Hogan, Marty Lowe, Dean Morpeth, James Peters and Lachlan Wright. Ryan Tierney is the clubs newest recruit.
Ouyen United have Danny OâShannessy coaching. Moving to different clubs are Kayne Burns, Matthew OâConner, Jack Van Wyngaarden, Marcus Healy, Joshua Plozza and Shaun Langdon. Coming into the club is Jacob Anstey, Adam OâCallaghan, Corey OâCallaghan, Dominic Leach, Mathew Shaddock, Christopher Gerkins, Brenton Jardine and Nathan Dunne.
Beulah will be coached by Dale Shannon again. Leaving them this year are Jayden Gladman, Matthew Gladman, Scott Gladman, Gary Hallam, Jordan Hallam, Jason Turnbull and Joel Whybird. Beulah have recruited Mark Williams, Timothy Hill, Jarred Combe and Jacob Percy.
Coaching Jeparit-Rainbow is Ashley Clugston and Mark Cocks. They have lost Jake Gale-Turnbull, Daniel Paech, Brent Tough, Matthew Walker, Ben Zanker and Joseph Vallelonga. They have James Weir, Luke Price, Damien Chester, Christopher Zanker and Michael Henderson.
